42 MPH is terminal velocity

Yesterday we crested a medium sized hill and saw a welcome sign. It was one of those trucks headed downhill, and it promised a 16 percent downgrade. There was no traffoc, and the road was straight, so I just tucked in a let it go. Top speed was 42 MPH, and the stop sign was at least a quarter mile from the bottom of the hill. Why do they keep putting stop signs at the bottom of the hills?

Ok, but now you have a new record to break. I mean, you gotta hit 43 mph!

Also, if you go metric, it's much faster.
