Babycakes, that was cold

When we left the hotel this morning it seemed like the weather was going to be perfect again. So it was just shorts and jersey for the mile to breakfast. But it wasn't as warm as it looked so the windbreaker went on after breakfast. And a few miles later the fog rolled in. I tried to convince myself it was temporary, but the fog convinced me it wasn't. So my internal chant went from 'this won't last' to 'the arm and leg warmers are in the side of that bag, why in the world don't I just stop and make myself comfortable?' So I did, and it worked until lunch, at which time I made the unprecedented step of adding the fleece while I biked. It was just plain cold out there. I'd think it was Oregon getting the last laugh on us, but nothing changed once we crossed the border into California. The fog of course cut down on the views as well, and I'd have to say this is really the first day when the end couldn't come soon enough.
