Throw overboard everything that doesn't float

The bike was just too heavy. Or at least the stuff that I was carrying was too heavy. So at the beginning of day 3 I stopped at the post office and sent a box back home. Going through the stuff left me scratching my headl.

I know why I brought 3 pair of bike shorts. I figured to wash a pair everynight and give tham a couple days to dry. But it takes only a day to dry. I could go with 1 pair but I'll keep 2. 1 gets shipped back home. I started with 3 Jerseys based on the same thought process, and bought 1 more in Canada. 2 go back. I brought socks on a similar theory, but went with 1 pair for riding and 1 pair for afterwards every day. 6 pair plus 1 purchased. 4 go back. 1 set of street clothes goes back. The eBook isn't charging, it goes back. 3 pounds of home roasted coffe gets dropped off at Margarets.

But what really has me bothered is, why did I bring along 2 pair of reading glasses in case 1 gets broken? Replacements are available in thousands of places along the route. What in the world was I thinking? I think differantely now that I've lugged these things up a couple of hills.
