Today could not have been more different from yesterday. It was wet for 80 percent of the ride today and I could not have gotten wetter. Fortunately it was warm enough that as long as I kept moving I didn't get too cold. I changed into dry socks at lunch, which made lunch a little more comfortable, but after 5-10 minutes on the road they were as soaked as the first pair.
But the thing that struck me the most was the size and number of the drops. Not big enough to meet the Michigan definition of rain, but larger than mist. And there were so many of them. It was so thick it felt like fabric being drawn across my face. Until I hit 30 MPH on the downhills. Then it felt like pinpricks right below the eyes - you know, that place that's puffy in the morning after you've reached that certain age? At least if I have that problem tomorrow morning, that's what I'm going to blame it on. Can't be my age.
And even in the rain, the scenery was beautiful, thanks to the temperature being high enough to enjoy it. But at the next family reunion there will be no pictures of today. The camera didn't look like it would survive a day of that kind of moisture.

Sorry to hear about the rain. Hopefully, it will be clear for the rest of your trip.
