Still looking for that elusive sighting

We've seen some great sights so far, hopefully with more to come. And I think we've seen some relatively rare things, like breaching whales up near Sea Ranch and the guy with Pepsi carry-on on the Amtrak train. But I'm still hoping to spot that thing so rare in California that it's very existance may be mythical.

A California Toyota Prius owner who supports John McCain.

I swear, I'm begining to think that Obama stickers are being installed in the factory now. Perhaps it's like those checkboxes on the web when you buy something. Where if you don't uncheck the box they put you on their newsletter list. And if you don't uuncheck the box with Toyota, the political sticker is pre-installed. Because I can't begin to guess how many Priuses I have seen with Obama 08 stickers on them. Sometimes you have to look above the bum.per, right under the window, but you can pretty much count on there being one somewhere. We haven't gotten to San Diego yet and I think that's the town with the highest chance of spotting a Prius owner for McCain. But I don't think those chances are very high.

The preceding is not a political commentary suggesting support for or against any candidate or political party. It is simply a cultural observation. I am Jon Bode, and I approved this blog post.

Hmmmm, that bumper sticker didn't come preinstalled on my VA based Prius. Ahead of it's time I guess, since it was purchased before Obama was known by one name. Don't worry, though, I suspect one will come in the mail soon......
